Sharing the Double Portion Blessing

Through our Messiah, Jesus, the double portion blessing of the first born is brought to all believers. As our sacrificial lamb, Jesus has made us a free people and full beneficiaries of His heavenly inheritance. In this knowledge we, as followers of Jesus Christ, should be encouraged with the whole hope of eternal life and joint heirship with the Son of the living God.

God commanded that the first born of Israel should receive a double portion by their right of inheritance. God also declared that the Levites, or those of His holy priesthood, should also receive a double portion. We, who have been redeemed by grace through the lordship of our great high priest, Jesus, have also been issued the privilege of the priestly blessing and that of the first born.

Through this revealing teaching you will come to understand such biblical truths as: the abundant provision available to you because God has brought forth a substitute sacrifice for your sins, the understanding that the double portion blessing is also for peace, health, family salvation, as well as all of your needs, the recognition that the respectful fear of God and obedience to His commandments releases blessing, and the foundational principals for receiving your full portion of inheritance.

This teaching is one among several brought forth from March 1993 to April 1995 by Dick Reuben to the congregation of Brownsville Assembly of God in Pensacola, Florida. This church was to soon become the host to the now, well known Pensacola Outpouring Revival and would see over four million people touched by God’s Holy Spirit. The leadership of Brownville Assembly attributes these very teachings with laying the foundation for this mighty move of God.
